Air travelers must book hotel within 48 hours of arrival to Canada. Hotel stays cannot be booked directly with the hotel. Rather, air travelers must call the Government of Canada hotline.
Since implementation of the new requirement, air travelers have highlighted confusion about exemptions from the hotel stay alluded to by Government of Canada press conferences and expressed frustration with long wait times to book their hotel stay. Luckily, it seems that the cost of the 3-day stay might be lower than the original $2,000 price tag cited by Prime Minister Trudeau.
