The intake process for the 2017 Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship program opened today at 12pm EST.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will be randomly selecting 10, 000 Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their parents or grandparents in 2017.
Sponsors must submit an expression of interest in sponsoring online between January 3rd and February 2nd, 2017 at noon eastern standard time. Shortly after February 2nd, IRCC will randomly select 10,000 sponsors from among those who submitted an expression of interest.
The Government of Canada announced changes to the application process for 2017 in a News Release on December 14, 2016.
