KEY TAKEWAYS FROM THE LATEST TRENDS

We anticipate the minimum score will decrease in future CEC-specific draws

  • The latest CEC-targeted draw was held on November 19, 2024, where 400 invitations were issued with the lowest score of 539.
  • The first CEC-targeted draw since 2021 was held on Friday, May 31st, 2024, where 3,000 invitations were issued with the lowest score of 522.
  • This is a significant development because the introduction of category-based draws has been skewing invitations to applicants outside Canada, specifically the French-speaking draws.
  • We anticipate the minimum score will decrease in future CEC-specific draws since the points bracket representing the highest number of candidates is 451-500 (with a total of 64,225 candidates, or 29.5% of the Express Entry pool).
  • You can check all the rounds of invitations HERE.
In 2021, we experienced a draw, where only 75 points were sufficient to get
an invitation to apply - this could happen again!
